HOLISTIC HEALTH

Yoga Makes Me Feel Deeply Well. Yoga is an important tool for me to stay focused and find peace. I discovered yoga at the age of 19 and trained as a yoga teacher (between 2005–2012) under the skilled and internationally recognized yoga instructor Ulrica Norberg, with a focus on therapeutic yoga, prenatal yoga, Vinyasa yoga, and yoga for children.

There are times when I don't focus as much on doing yoga, and that is never a good idea. I always return to it, because yoga makes me feel so deeply well. Yoga can move mountains for a person who is hurt or stuck in self-destructive patterns of behavior. I know this from my own life and from many of my students through years of teaching.

I also believe it is possible to teach yoga while remaining rooted in Christianity. Respect for different beliefs and faith systems is important for creating a more peaceful world—and a calmer inner life.

The heart has the largest electromagnetic field in the entire body. Therefore, it is our most important antenna when we interact with the world. We would do well to let ourselves be guided by our hearts—and the world will automatically become a better place. A little more yin in a world that is mostly controlled by yang.
