Vegard Vinje has a PhD in applied mathematics and fluid mechanics from the University of Oslo and has researched fluid flows in and around the brain. In his work, he has combined clinical measurements with mathematical modeling to look at how the flow of spinal fluid affects health. In 2019, he was named researcher of the year at the Simulaseneteret in Oslo for his research on the breath's contribution to spinal fluid flow and the consequences for effective brain cleansing.
